Sunday the 14th of August saw the test cycle event for the Olympics pass through Ripley Village.

Hundreds of spectators turned out, many adorned in their riding gear, to cheer on the competitors in this dress rehersal for next years Olympic event.

Local road closures caused few problems as villagers took the advantage of walking down to Rose Lane junction free of traffic.

A suprising number of support cars and motorcycles were in advance and accompaniment that, to the unitiated, it might well have seemed akin to a road rally.

Farmers Market on the green Saturday 13th of August
